The Multiple Offender Program is an educational program and is not designed as a treatment program for persons addicted to alcohol or drugs. It is intended to benefit the irresponsible driver who is having continual problems with drinking and driving. Students examine the reasons why they did not successfully change behavior after the first OWI. They monitor their alcohol or other drug use or abstinence throughout the course, self-assess their current substance use patterns, explore alternatives, and learn and apply a variety of coping strategies to help them avoid future high-risk substance use. Students also complete a Personal Change Plan to help them avoid future problems with impaired driving.
